Death becomes a TV show

ITV teletext reports today that the BBC are planning a week of programmes dedicated to the issue of death, to be broadcast later in the year. Among the "highlights" will be a programme presented by Esther Rantzen, with the title of How to Have a Good Death (not That's Death! then?).

The majority of people don't want to think about death, let alone watch a programme about it, so why are the BBC wasting license payers' money on something like this? I can hear the sound of the bottom of a barrel being well and truly scraped.
