Noel's (not so) fighting talk.

So, Noel Gallagher's been shooting his mouth off again. This time, he's been having a go at all the "moaning" (his words) soldiers who've been wounded in Iraq. "If you're bothered about getting shot, don't join the Army", he says. He and those who share his view are missing the point entirely. These soldiers and their families aren't complaining about the fact that some nasty person fired bullets at them and hurt them. Those who join the Armed Forces know what to expect when they join. They know that they will face some very dangerous situations. They know that they may be injured or even killed doing their duty. They also expect to be given the necessary training and resources to go about their duty. It has been well documented that many of those killed or injured in Iraq and Afghanistan went in there without the proper equipment. It's also been well documented that many here believe that our soldiers have been fighting a war based on lies and deceit, including the families of those who have lost their lives. A good number of the casualties suffered in this war could've been prevented- this is why they are "moaning", and it's with good reason that they are. They are, after all, serving our country and they deserve support and respect.

One wonders whether Noel and his knucklehead brother would have the guts to join the Army. Would they be able to handle being on the front line in Iraq, or would they be running home to their mansions the moment the bullets start flying and the bombs go off? No prizes for guessing what I think.

Not Feeling good about this.

When I bought the Feeling's album the day it was released a few months back, I thought I had got a good deal. A few months later (yesterday, to be precise) I saw an advert for the album, that at the end said that it was available at Tesco at the special price of £7.97- less than I originally paid for it. Why is it that whenever you buy CDs or DVDs at "special offer prices", you nearly always find them being offered at an even more special price a few months later, especially before Christmas? And not only that, but they're also "special editions" of the album- with bonus tracks and/or DVDs? It makes you wonder whether you should've just held onto your money a bit longer, at least until you know for sure that you're not going to only buy it for two songs, or just ask for it for Christmas or your birthday. One thing's for sure, the more that adverts for albums have "available at Tesco/ASDA/Morrisons/Sainsburys" (delete as applicable) at the end, the more I'll be annoyed that I chose to buy it from HMV or Amazon and not while doing the food shopping.

Apologies if this entry is s***

I haven't been on here in over a week. I'm slacking! No, I've merely had a bit of the old "writers' block" in terms of writing blog entries of late. I guess all of us have it at some point or other- a little period where nothing really happens that's worth writing about, or something that is worth writing about happens, but you can't really find the words to write about it. When it gets beyond a week, you end up feeling you have to write an entry anyway just so you remember you've still got a blog. The last thing you want is to leave it to rot in cyberspace for ages. So here is my entry, and with it, another little quiz I played on blogthings earlier (including my own score).

You Are 44% Politically Radical

You've got some radical viewpoints, but you aren't completely nuts. You're more of a visionary than a radical.
