Something to smile about

Apparently, yesterday was the most depressing day of the year. Aren't all Mondays depressing? What's even stranger than that was the news on teletext yesterday that we Brits are a nation of optimists.

Yes, you read me right- optimists.

Given the amount of negative stories we hear day in, day out, not to mention the amount of people who regularly moan about their lives, how this country is going down the pan and how we are all doomed thanks to terrorism/global warming/space objects hurtling towards the earth (delete as applicable), it's amazing how any of us are able to look on the bright side of life at all. In fact, it's amazing how any of us manage to get out of the house in the morning.
